How To - Leaving Title of Widgets Blank

If you have edited a widget on Blogger recently, you have probably discovered that it will not let you save the changes unless you enter something in the title bar.  Here is what you can enter to leave the title blank {thread on a BB} .  Paste the code into the header for the widget, and save. When you view your blog nothing will show but the content of the widget box. Problem solved. I did read, in the same place I found this solution, that they will be changing the title requirement for widgets back to what it was but that it will not be quickly.   So, the above solution will work for now.

A tutu for Ms. Diva

With the Tutu Drive underway, I tried out this tutu idea in a Ms. Diva size in colors to go with bubbles she already has.  The top photo is so that you can actually see the tutu.  Here are the photos that show you why the top photo was necessary.  Exactly how do you keep a crawling diva still long enough to get a good shot? Candid Shots I'm linking up with:

Will you help?

My goal is to donate 5 tutu's.  What can you do?  Click on the button to find out details.

Five Question Friday - 6/25/10

Hard to believe it is already another weekend, but it is and here are my answers to Five Question Friday. 1. Do you know how to play a musical instrument? Yes.  I play violin (have since third grade), play a little piano, and some guitar.  My husband and I play on our Church's Worship Team.  Just another hobby I play around with to compliment all my different craft endeavors, LOL! 2. What is your pet peeve while driving? My pet peeve tends to be people driving really slow (10 plus miles below the speed limit), and people driving way to fast.  There is a speed limit and you should be driving fairly close to it!  Guess it is my sense of order that gets offended by them. 3. Would you rather have a housekeeper or unlimited spa services? HOUSEKEEPER!!!!  Then I would have oldies of time to craft, and play, and, and, and Mr. SD wouldn't complain about the kitchen being a mess. 4. Is there a song that you hear that will take you back to the moment, like a junior high or hi

Silhouette Craft Cutter Giveaway!

Hey everyone!  I know I post a lot of giveaways that are on other sites, but here is why...  If you don't subscribe to a blog that is having a great giveaway don't you still want to hear about it? Case in point - I didn't even know about Thrifty Decor Chick  until today.  And guess what??  They are having a fabulous giveaway for a Silhouette Craft Cutter!  What an awesome gadget to add to your collection.  Back on topic regarding cross-posting giveaway info... I only found out about this giveaway ( that I really, really want to win ) because Sam at Mom Undecided  posted about it.  I clicked on her link and found the info for the giveaway, and found another blog I want to follow.  How wonderful is that? So, now you know why I post about giveaway's from others too!  Now go enter for your chance to win one of these awesome machines.

A Bag of Bags!

Just after finding this tutorial through a link-up party { Drawstring Bag Tutorial by KoJo } I had a friend request a Black and Red Bag Grabber.  So, I went back to the tutorial, made a couple changes, and this is what I came up with.  An overlapping flap at the top for bags to go in, and elastic at the bottom ( not as easy for a kiddo to untie and pull out ) made it easy to add contrasting fabric.  All said and done, this probably only took a 1/2 hour to comlpete ( not including breaks to play with Ms. Diva ). Weekend Wrap - 6/21/2010

We had a wonderful Father's Day Weekend.  Somewhat relaxing, good weather, and good cooking! The Spunky Diva blog received it's first award "Beautiful Blogger" !  Thank you, Joy!  I made the guy's in the family these M&M Bow-Ties which they all thought were great.  Who doesn't love M&M's?  Many thanks to Alison at Oopsey Daisy  for posting this idea, and sharing the pdf of the cards.  It was very helpful late Saturday evening, LOL! For my hubby, I made some guitar polishing clothes by using soft duster cloths for a dollar at HEB (Texas grocery chain) and using some embroidery to personalize them.  I used two clothes sewn together to create the final cloths to hide the back of the embroidery design, and to make the overall feel of the the cloths thicker. If I made these over again, I would lay out the two clothes and trim them down to match.  I didn't realize when I started how unevenly cute the fabric was.  I should have trimmed them

Five Question Friday - 6/18/10

1. What is your favorite thing about summertime? My favorite summertime thing is... that the pools are open, BBQ, 4th of July, Western Days (a really fun craft fair here in Elgin, TX), and time spent with family! 2. What is your ideal retirement location (if money didn't matter)? Right here in central Texas.  Would love to have 50 acres on lake front or with it's own little lake.  Texans are crazy about their waterfront.  Of course, retirement would include international travel to fun locals! 3. Do you live in the same town you grew up in? Nope.  Was a navy brat, but grew up mostly outside of Seattle, WA.  Definitly not anywhere close to Texas, LOL! 4. What nervous habit did you have as a child that you kicked to the curb before becoming an adult? Lack of mouth control.  Seriously, I am a serious blutter.  It is a little better as an adult, but I still work at it everyday.  The worst part is when I get nervous and say stuff that I don't mean and that is hurtful t

The pillow is done!

Here is the finished product!  I am very happy with how this project turned out.  If you recall, an in progress picture was part of my weekend wrap that I posted on Monday.  Well, here is a picture of the pillow stuffed in its custom pillow scrunching case.  I will be posting a detailed account (aka: Tutorial ) the end of July on how to make your own pillow scrunching case.  This project reuses any standard pillow you have relegated to the closet since it is no longer fit to be a bed pillow, and turns it into a decorative pillow for any room you want! And here is the in progress shot, from when I had it pinned and turned inside out to double check the measurements before sewing the pillow case together. I'm linking up with...

Tuesday Link Parties

Here are the party links that I have joined up with today.  If you have found my little corner of the web through one of these feel free to take a moment to check out my blog.  I currently have a Spunky Diva Giveaway in progress, ending June 20th ( Giveaway ).  Feel free to enter as many different ways you would like!  Thanks for visiting, and I hope you leave a comment so that I can return the favor.       I have submitted the Binkie Bag link as my June submission for the 2010 Sewing Challenge.  I am very happy to complete this months challenge, after washing out last month, LOL!  Feel free to join me in these challenges.  The more the merrier!

How To - Binkie Bag

Here is how I made this cute Binkie Bag for "K" to give to her friend.  This idea was inspired by an Etsy posting, but I can't find the link to that seller's store again.  If you have seen a binkie bag similar to this on Etsy could you post the link?  This Binkie Bag is a finished size of 5.5" x 6.5", with a ribbon strap to attach it the crib rail, and will hold 4 to 6 binkies.  This is a real life saver in the middle of the night when you can't find the binkie you know is in the crib.  You just grab the next one in the bag, plug the hole, and see if that is what baby is crying about, LOL! Ingredients: - Piece of fabric 14" by 12" or larger - Thread - Straight Edge - Rotary Cutter or Scissors - Coordinating Ribbon - Matching thread - Design and materials to personalize however you would like.  You could use freezer paper stencils, hand embroidery, machine embroidery ( as in my example ), or any other "baby-safe" way to personal

Weekend Whirlwind

We got Ms. Diva moved into her own room on Saturday.  Which involved moving furniture, sorting clothes, and some major baby hopping ( as Ms. Hope was very interested in what was going on ).  That was quite the project!  Some new paint is still in order, but right now it is a interesting combo of girly pink and camo, LOL:)   I spent Saturday evening knocking out some sewing projects.  My To-Do List is down from 24 items ( in March ) to 7 items ( before I started adding more ).  One project I got done is a Binkie Bag for a boy expected in August.  It was a fairly simple project, and I took pictures throughout so I could post a picture heavy tutorial soon.  A Binkie Bag is a must for any new baby.  After having Ms. Hope's binkie bag for almost two weeks now, I wish I had made one six months ago!  I found an example on Etsy that I based mine off of, but I cannot find the same listing.  I know the person was also a blogger, so if you know who I should be giving credit for this idea, p
