Lots of things happening today…

Today is the last day to get in your entries for the $15 Amazon Giftcard giveaway I am hosting here at The Spunky Diva.  {Shhh, but I got this giftcard through SwagBucks .} Today kicks of the Month of Patterns over at Grosgrain with a Sunny Resort Blouse Pattern by Adey over at The Sew Convert .  What a fantastic pattern to kick of Grosgrain’s Month of Patterns! Today… I have to get up the Easter pictures of Ms. Diva and Ms. T in their Easter outfits.  They are soooooo  cute!  As some of you know I was working at a horse show this weekend, and so missed the Easter Church Service and after church meal, but I was able to help get the girls ready for the big day and get some pictures taken.  When I got back from the show grounds Sunday evening, Ms. Diva was crashed out {literally} on the recliner while Mr. SD was holding Ms. T in the other recliner, LOL.  Of course, I didn’t get a photo of that.  Apparently, she took a short nap in the car ...

Button Blanks ~ Freebie

Here is a blank 200x200 square to add your text and color(s) too.  Simply ‘save-as’ on your computer and edit in Paint or upload to Picnik .  For my buttons I have added color to the blank using Paint, and then uploaded to Picnik to add text and/or boarders. { } Here is the blank I used to create my Sidebar Color Buttons.  It is 199x38.  Again, I used Paint to add the background color and Picnik to add the text.  Saved it to my Photobucket account, and then created the button. { } Here is a great tutorial from Seven-Thirty-Three on how to create a menu bar , and she shows how to do all these steps and how to turn your image/link into a functional button.  Click between the { and } to 'find' the button blanks.

Week 4 P2 Quilt-Along… Progress Shots

Hey there! I am in the process of getting Week 4’ Blocks completed.  Both of these blocks are super cool, and seeing all the variations posted in the Flickr file for this quilt-along as been very inspiring.  I love how crisp the Diamond Mine block looks in this refreshing ocean blue and lime combo . Well… onto my progress… I have all my triangles sewn for Diamond Mine.  Layering the squares together, and sewing on either side of the diagonal line makes piecing these a snap.  Here is the link to the details on this method from Week 2 that Ryan and Charlie posted.  I first saw this method watching Love of Quilting on T.V. from Fons and Porter . As for the Fourth Inning block… I have two layout options that I am considering.  Take a look and tell me what you think.  {This way my final block for this week will be a ‘big’ surprise} Option 1           Option 2 Thoughts????? Since I shared a tip last ...

1. What is your favorite Easter tradition?   As a child it was definitely the Easter egg hunt, and getting a packed Easter Basket with a furry stuffed animal {gotta have the stuffed animal!}.  Now as a ‘mature’ adult {yeah, right} it is the family time.  It is amazing how the focus changes as we get older.  Family dinners are my favorite, and a holiday/special occasion just makes them that much sweeter. 2. Are you a "shower" or a "long, hot bath" kind of person?   I love a long, hot bath, but don’t currently have a bath tub.  So… I make do with the occasional long, hot shower.  Normally I am a speed showerer {that is definitely not a real word, but what else are you gonna call it?}, because every second I am in the shower I can just picture the gallons and gallons going down the drain. 3. Can you parallel park and if so when is the last time you did it?   I did it for my driver’s test in the farm truck that had an extra lo...
