Five Question Friday - 7/23/10

1. What were your school colors?  The "school" I remember most was elementary (Purple/Gold same was University of WA).  I couldn't tell you what the community college I went to used for colors.  I think it was green and something.  Was home schooled for middle and high school years.  I "claim" burnt orange for UT, but that is just an Austin thang.

2. What's the best compliment you ever received?  I was invited to ride for a trainer in Germany.  Now that invitation was probably only extended because he knew I had a family, and wouldn't be likely to take him up on it, LOL.  But, it was a very neat compliment to receive.  A compliment no one else at that clinic received.

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?  EXPENSIVE!  Not the most expensive, but certainly not the cheapest stuff.  Can't have rough on the tush.  Kinda like bedsheets; some people can sleep with any kind of sheet.  Me, if it isn't 600 plus count, it isn't going to work for me.  Of course, I only have two pairs of sheets that I switch between, but they are both the luxurious type {PS - Costco has a great deal on these}.

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?  I haven't ever had a surprise party, and I can't keep my mouth shut so I have never thrown a surprise party for someone else.  I did however manage to fly home for my mom's b-day without her knowing, and surprised her at the restaurant my dad had taken her to for dinner.  Do you think that counts?

5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?  Well, in a previous week we established I couldn't live without coffee, so... a coffee maker?  Or, it might be the sheets.  I would love to have a dishwasher again, but am living without one now.  I love my car, and would really rather not have to go by horseback or buggy everywhere.  Books would be very hard to live without.  So, I guess there are a lot of things I couldn't live without, LOL!  I could live without: the TV, the DVR, dishwasher.  Everything else I would really like to keep.

  3. Passing through by way of 5QF.

I agree with Vandy . . . surprising your mom TOTALLY counts! That's something you never forget. My parents surprised me once at the airport (at a time when you could actually go to the gate and meet your party), but they were dressed in weird wigs and 60s clothes, with Billy Bob teeth and a sign. SO embarrassing but funny!

Thanks for sharing. LOVED your answers.

Christmas is coming...

Working through some Christmas items to list on www.SpunkyDiva.com, my Etsy store. I will be taking custom orders through Dec. 1st.  Also, getting back into the swing of things by participating in two craft fairs this holiday season.

Planner Tabs and Dashboard

Post-it's tabs are super easy to add and move if you need to change where there are placed. I find that after placing them, I may find it easier to see them further over or on the other side of the page.

Seeing so many different ways to use tabs on the top, sides, and bottoms of their planner has given me ideas. And when you find one way doesn't work great, switch the location until you do find the perfect location for the way you use them.

After this layout, I moved stuff around....

Now the tabs for project lists, H's B-day, next Christmas are on the bottom of the pages. Nothing blocks the,  since the above layout I also switched the monthly layouts to behind the DISFish weekly pages I use.  The teal/blue month tabs are on the first page of the DISFish which includes that month's information.  The monthly tabs on the side are for the two-page monthly sprees by Daytimer that came with this binder. Helps to see the month laid out in that way when on the phone making appo…

Planner Sections

Order in my Palmer (right now) goes like this...Dashboard, wrapped in two verses printed on card stock, Food tracker, 2016 DIYFish yearly calendar for melds tracking,  Weekly (DIYFish Weekly Project) Monthly two-page layouts, Financial Freedom pages, Fitness pages, Project pages (special event planning pages), Church Team pages.

I have a steno pad in the back pocket for the ongoing, never ending to-do list and what purchases are needed for those tasks.
A second stern pad is tucked into the front pocket for me brain dump as I think of things during the day.
