Wendesday Link-ups...

Hey there ~ I am linking up Ms. Diva's butterfly dress as my Wordless Wednesday entry.  So, I decided to just do a post of where I am linking up today rather than editing seperate posts.  I think the Wednesday parties are some of my favorite parties! Add a Back~To~Top Button

Have you noticed my new button? Now that I mention it you probably have noticed it, LOL!  Have you tried it out?  It sends you right back to the top of whatever page you are on.  Handy little bugger, isn’t it? I found a tutorial on How to add a back-to-top button in 19 different styles .  Yup… Max, at All Blog Tools, gives you 19 different arrows/buttons to choose from and clear directions on how to add them to your blog.

Bunny To-Do’s

http://www.allfreesewing.com/ has some truly creative Easter crafts listed on their site.  It is a great site to find inspiration or to find directions ranked by your own crafty level.  AllFreeSewing ranks each craft for difficulty, the type of sewing involved {hand or machine}, and lets you know about how long it will take to complete the project.  Here are couple of the crafts I would love to try to get done for Ms. T and Ms. Diva, time and children willing of course, LOL! Add a ‘click-able’ signature to comments you make.

While blog hopping recently, I came across this fantastic tip listed on Be Our Best .  Jill has compiled her Top 10 Blogging Tips in one place to help others out there in blogland.  Most of them I had heard of before.  But she had one on her list that I have only seen a couple times in practice, and have not heard a how-to do it before. Number 6: Add a clickable signature to your comments. If you add the following text to the bottom of the comments you leave for other bloggers, whatever text you insert for “Your Text Here” will be clickable.  You have to switch out “{“ and “}” with “<” and “>” then it will work.  Remember to also change the “Your Blog Address” part, LOL! {a href=http://www.YourBlogAddress.com/ }YOUR TEXT HERE {/a} Bonus Tip ~ I use Notepad to store all the html codes I use on a regular basis {the direct link code for my signature image, color codes, etc.}.  I added the above code to my Notepad page, edited it with my informat...

Grandpa's Christmas Gift - Bathroom Towels

Mom and I are working on sprucing up Grandpa's room, and we found this wonderful blue and tan flower motif fabric on clearance.  A nice blue that matches the 'wonderful' blue carpet already in his room.  The house is pretty much inundated with country blue as you can see from previous shots of the kitchen . I hand gathered the fabric for the ruffle at the bottom of the towels.  I am not sure where exactly I first saw the project that gave me the idea to do this gathered fabric on the towels, but here is a great tutorial on creating ruffled fabric at Simply Modern Mom .  I know that I have certainly been inspired by this pillow at The Shabby Chic .  The Elegant Embossed Monogram font is one that I purchased from www.Secretsof.com (where I also purchased my Embird embroidery software).  Grandpa was very happy with the towels. Ms. Diva's new outfit.

Ms. Diva's Christmas/Winter outfit is from It's My Favorite Boutique on Etsy .  It came in the mail last week, and I just had to grab Ms. Diva, take some picks, and show it off to you guys! Ms. Diva is completely in love with shoes.  She must have a pair on her feet, and a pair in her hands, LOL!  It is funny how a month ago she could walk, but felt that crawling was much better, and faster.  Now, she has completely changed her tune, and is walking everywhere.  We have to keep a close watch on her outside, because she has figured out that she can walk out to where the horses are.  Not to mention the pond, and all the other 'fun' things outside.  Gravity always works. Search and Rescue Where O' Where could it have gone? I have all my Christmas shopping done, but am waiting for a few things to arrive in the mail still.  The only problem... Is that I have not been able to find our Christmas Stockings ANYWHERE?!?!?!  At this point I w...

Add some fun to your Computer Desktop.

Being the creative, crafty person I am... I love changing up my desktop background all the time.  Being the frugal person that I am (occasionally, LOL) I always try to find a free way to do this.  So, this last time when I got the itch for change, I ran a search to find a new desktop background for my computer (of course I ran the search using SwagBucks , LOL), and found the Blue Mountain website .  They have a great assortment of desktop backgrounds available for free after a quick registration.  Blue Mountain also has several monthly desktop backgrounds that have a picture with a calender overlay. When I saw this rainbow with Psalms 27:1, I downloaded it.  What a stunning Rainbow! And with how easy it was to use the Blue Mountain website I can change my desktop every week! Blue Mountain is part of the AG Interactive Group, and specializes in greeting cards.  They state that all their downloads are Adware and Spyware free.  They are also ...

Book Review Blog Hop by Frugality Is Free

What a fun way to check out what others think about books, and see what they are reading!  I linked up my review of Bittersweet by Shauna Niequist  to this weeks link party.    Do you write reviews?  Maybe you just want to check out what books others are reading.  Either way take a moment to hop on over to Frugality is Free and check out the blogs and books linked up!

Adding fonts to your computer.

Fonts 500 is a fantastic site to download free fonts onto your computer to use in Word/Open Office docs. I am not sure if you can digitize these fonts (don't have that upgrade to my embroidery software yet, darn-it), but you can use them to make fabric labels. I used these directions from AscenderCrop to install the fonts. These directions were straightforward, and I had no problems getting the three fonts I downloaded uploaded and then used them right away in Paint. Here are the three options I am looking at using for fabric labels. Your thoughts???

My newest favorite quilt pattern!

Cindi and Peggi are two friends that love quilting and blog abou their love!  They have several tutorials and tons of pictures on their blog at Seams To Be You and Me .  My newest project added to the never ending to-do list is Peggi's version of the traditional Drunkard's Path quilt pattern.  Isn't this just gorgeous?!?!? What's even neater about this tutorial is that the pieces are created in whole circle, and then cut to create squares for piecing.  Much easier than some of the ways I have seen the Drunkard's Path taught. Take a moment to head over and check out the Drunkard's Path Tutorial .

Fantastic Fabric Clearance

44th Street Fabric is cleaning house, and are offering up a fantastic collection of fabrics to you at rock bottom prices!  If you haven't checked them out before, now is a great time to do so.  Here is the direct link to their Clearance Section .  If you do like what you see of their fabrics you will probably want to become a follower of their blog (the first link).  They have frequent fabric giveaways, and who wants to pass up the chance for free fabric? I think I may just have to grab a couple yards of these:

Current Slew of Books

I got in four books at one time to review, and then a fifth one showed up!  I am certainly set for reading material on my trip.  Here is what I have in.  I expect to have all the reviews posted by the end of October.  Wish me luck! I just finished reading Masquerade by Nancy Moser.  The unofficial review is that it was a wonderful read.  Here is the link to it's page with Bethany House Publishers:  Masquerade Now I am reading Loves First Bloom by Delia Parr.  Published by Bethany House Publishers. Then the next three I have to read are: The Vigilante's Bride , by Yvonne Harris; published by Bethany House Publishers City on Our Knees , by Toby Mac; published by Bethany House Publishers and (one I was very excited to receive!) Out Live Your Life , by Max Lucado; published by Thomas Nelson

Wednesday Link-ups

I am linking up my Quick Curtain Tutorial and the post about painting my Mom's bathroom to these blogs today:

Time to get serious!

I found this widget on Nikki's blog, at The Best Part of Believe .  This will make you realize that it is almost October, and Christmas is almost here!!!!!  Do you have your gift list made up?  I sure don't.  I am still trying to figure out what to do for a turning the big "1" part for Ms. Diva.  Luckily she won't remember it at all, LOL! Guess this is my wake-up call that I need to at least get a list going, so I can order special items if I want to.  It is always hard to get custom items done Christmas Eve, LOL! I am thinking of getting a couple of these pieces from http://www.karalmava.etsy.com/ Aren't they gorgeous?

Costume Fun - Part 1

Looking around on Etsy I found these absolutely wonderful baby/toddler costumes at Angela's etsy store: Maple Tree 2000.   Look at them!  The amount of creativity and know-how that Angela has is just amazing.  { Strawberry Fields Stroller and Costume } { Lilly Pad Stroller Cover } { Hamburger and Fries Stroller Cover and Costume } Personally, this one if my fav.

Create your own Favicon

The ultimate in creating a personalized blog is having your own little image pop up next to your web-site address.  Instead of the "lovely" orange and white B.  Kelsey over at The Tip Junkie posted a wonderful tutorial under Blogging 101 that shows you how to create your own favicon .  All I did, to create the lovely little (tiny) purple specks you see by my web-site address, was to follow her directions.  I am not even going to pretend I could figure this out on my own, LOL!  One hint though - to create my little specks, I cropped down the image used for my signature to 15x15 using PhotoBucket.  Everytime I need to figure something out, PhotoBucket seems to be able to easily do the job for me.
