Five Question Friday - 8/20/2010

1. Do you have any nicknames and if so how did it come about?  Not now, but as a kiddo I had the nickname Chip (as in Allen and the Chipmunks).  I had very chubby cheeks, which Ms. Diva has inherited.  I wonder if she will be called Chip at any point, LOL!

2. What is your birth order amongst your siblings?  I am the oldest of my brother and I.

3. In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other?  Do I have to choose?  I would say a younger Robert Redford.  Not for the looks, but because whenever I see him in a movie he always makes me think of Mr. SD in his quiet but sharp way of playing out a character.

4. What is currently your favorite song?  East to West by Casting Crowns.  The link is to a previous post that includes the YouTube video.  This song is a wonderful inspiration of just how much God loves each and everyone of us.

5. Are you saving your money for anything right now? Big or small purchase?  We are saving for a house.  Definitely a big purchase.  We have land in the family that we will build on so we just have to save up for the house.  Besides crafts and babies, I would have to say my third obsession is looking at house floor plans!

I Owe it All to Him's friday question is... Do you collect anything?  To go with the above question we have several floor plan books, but mostly I collect craft stuff.  I have boxes up in the attic (due to no true crafting space in the cottage), and I loathe going up there to find what I need.  But... most of the time I can find it!

I have finished the entire set of burp clothes I started last week (yipee!).  They are in the wash, and I will be taking pics once they get ironed out again.  Four of them are already spoken for as baby gifts, and now I need to get my rear end going on the next twelve.  But first I need to get some fun holiday fabric so I can start stocking up for the three, count 'em three, holiday craft fairs I am doing this November and December.

  1. Hi Kimberlee,
Thank you so much for linking this up! I know just what you mean about collecting craft items...and it takes up so much space! I admire you for going to the attic to get it...I don't know what I'd do if it wasn't on hand only because I use it every day...(I'm sure you saw my complete "art rehab" in progress.) That was about me trying to make space for it all..lol But, there are so many things we can't make unless we own them, so what choice do we have?
Wow, I am wishing you luck on the fairs you are doing...how great! And I hope it is fun and successful for you!
    Hugs,
    Cindy

  4. Wow! An impressive goal for the busy holiday time and how fun it all sounds. I'm just starting to think of Fall and making plans for everything from fall activities for my grand kids and me to Autumn songs - real and ones I make up. But Christmas is next in my thoughts, and I'm appreciating the inspiration. Thank you for a delightful visit.

Pretty in Pink and Some Sparkles too!

A hat for my oldest in ballet pink (red heart yarn she picked) with some silver beads.  No pattern, and ended up running elastic thread through a couple rows to make it more secure on her head for now, until she grows into it some more. Matches a shoulder shrug knitted for her during her year of ballet lessons.

Add a ‘click-able’ signature to comments you make.

While blog hopping recently, I came across this fantastic tip listed on Be Our Best .  Jill has compiled her Top 10 Blogging Tips in one place to help others out there in blogland.  Most of them I had heard of before.  But she had one on her list that I have only seen a couple times in practice, and have not heard a how-to do it before. Number 6: Add a clickable signature to your comments. If you add the following text to the bottom of the comments you leave for other bloggers, whatever text you insert for “Your Text Here” will be clickable.  You have to switch out “{“ and “}” with “<” and “>” then it will work.  Remember to also change the “Your Blog Address” part, LOL! {a href=http://www.YourBlogAddress.com/ }YOUR TEXT HERE {/a} Bonus Tip ~ I use Notepad to store all the html codes I use on a regular basis {the direct link code for my signature image, color codes, etc.}.  I added the above code to my Notepad page, edited it with my information, and saved it.  Now all I
