I used this wonderful tutorial from Kim over at Seven Thirty-Three. Here is her HOW TO: Create a Menu Bar.
Here are the buttons I created using PhotoBucket. To add the text box, open for editing the image you would like to use (I used the flowers from my signature that I had cropped to get my Favicon) go to the layers tab and select 'duplicate', this opens up a large field so you can add a text box. Delete the duplicate layer you just created (since you don't need it now), and add a Text Box under the 'decorate' tab. Go back to 'layers', and 'select all'. Make sure your layers line up the way you want, and then select 'merge'. Save as a copy, and now you can edit the final size of your button. All of my buttons are 55 pixels high by varying widths depending on the text. I downloaded each button photo, so I could upload them into this blog post. Now the pictures can 'move' by accident in the future!

Thanks for sharing with me! Your menu bar looks amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteKimberlee, I came to your blog and saw that fantastic menu bar and thought: how did she do that? Then when I looked carefully, I saw you had given a link to setting one up. Thanks so much. I may try this if I get adventuresome.
ReplyDeleteI really want to try this, but it still overwhelms me. Yours looks so great!
