Five Question Friday ~ 5/6/2011

Another week has raced by…my babies are that much closer to leaving home, and it is a week I will never be able to relive.  Thank God!  Yes, it was one of those weeks, that just goes from a chaotic Monday to worse.

On the plus side ~ My Accuquilt GO! Baby arrived!!!!!  I have already used it to cut shapes to applique onto my Mug Rug for the Mug Rug Swap No. 4.  I even have my Mug Rug pieced and ready to be appliqued upon.  Shocking as that seems.  I posted sneak peak shots earlier this week.  I can’t wait to add the applique and binding.  Sign-up for their e-mail newsletter and receive two pdf files full of quilt block ideas.  Plus, they have announced the winner of their Quilt Block Contest.

five

1. Have you ever had roommates?  Sorta.  I lived with my Grandpa here in Texas as a roommate type thing.  I am sure he was the most considerate roommate ever.  I never had to worry about what I put in the refrigerator disappearing, and he was a quiet kinda chap.  Always reading his books in the evening after work.

He did love it when I backed cookies.  And we had some great conversations over cookies and milk.

2. How many names do you/your children have? (i.e. Prince Charming William Phillip Arthur Louis John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt)  Both kiddos have very standard names.  First – Middle – Last  Nothing complicated about theirs, but… if they were royalty it would have been a completely different matter entirely.

First off, I would have plenty of money to buy the most extravagant baby carriage {unless I was a destitute royal}, and would feel obligated to make sure no one felt left out in the naming of the royal munchkins.  {did I really just use munchkin in a post…}

3. Did you watch the Royal Wedding?  Nope.  Didn’t even DVR it.  Knew my mommy was probably going to be one of ‘those’ people that DVR’d it on every channel playing, and I was right.  So, I got to see it after the fact.  I just adored her dress.  Wasn’t that gorgeous?

4. What is the messiest room in your house?  My closet.  I have posted about this problem child in the past.  And at this moment in time it is in fairly respectable shape.  I am sure as soon as I have a dedicated craft space that will take over the ‘messiest room’ title.

5. What is your ideal mothers day?  Sleeping in?

With two kiddos under two years old, sleeping in is such a thing of the past.  I can’t wait to be able to sleep in again.  But this wouldn’t happen on the actual Mother’s Day as Mother’s Day is always on a Sunday.  We get up early for church since we {Mr. SD and I } are on the worship team.  That means we are at the church by 8 am each Sunday.  Ugh.

And on that note… {possible that a pun was intended there} Happy Mother’s Day, may you have a blessed and wonderful weekend!

  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one with a messy closet! I asked my husband if I could take a picture of his side last night, after he searched the house looking for something that was RIGHT THERE in the closet! He vetoed that idea very quickly.

  2. My closet is messy too. And in this new house we don't have enough storage, so my cupboards are full too....and my coat closet is crammed full...yet I never have the right jacket for the outfit???? Why is that? (:>)

I am retired, so I can sleep in when I need to. (Your day will come.) (:>)

And oh yes...I watched the Royal Wedding and DVR'd it too. It was grand...and I loved Kate's dress.

    Happy Friday!

  3. Those are fun questions! Oh my closets are pretty messy even though I try to keep up with them. I didn't watch the Royal Wedding, but saw a recap on Dateline. Her dress was stunning - loved it!

Pretty in Pink and Some Sparkles too!

A hat for my oldest in ballet pink (red heart yarn she picked) with some silver beads.  No pattern, and ended up running elastic thread through a couple rows to make it more secure on her head for now, until she grows into it some more. Matches a shoulder shrug knitted for her during her year of ballet lessons.

Add a ‘click-able’ signature to comments you make.

While blog hopping recently, I came across this fantastic tip listed on Be Our Best .  Jill has compiled her Top 10 Blogging Tips in one place to help others out there in blogland.  Most of them I had heard of before.  But she had one on her list that I have only seen a couple times in practice, and have not heard a how-to do it before. Number 6: Add a clickable signature to your comments. If you add the following text to the bottom of the comments you leave for other bloggers, whatever text you insert for “Your Text Here” will be clickable.  You have to switch out “{“ and “}” with “<” and “>” then it will work.  Remember to also change the “Your Blog Address” part, LOL! {a href=http://www.YourBlogAddress.com/ }YOUR TEXT HERE {/a} Bonus Tip ~ I use Notepad to store all the html codes I use on a regular basis {the direct link code for my signature image, color codes, etc.}.  I added the above code to my Notepad page, edited it with my information, and saved it.  Now all I
