I purchased and cut out the pieces for this ruffle dress the last weekend of March, but then it was put aside to complete some other projects {and interrupted by the kiddos}. Now, I am back on track to finish this super-cute, super sweet ruffle dress from Ellie Inspired . After cutting each set of pieces, I used a straight pin to pin the cut pieces to the pattern piece. As a novice at sewing from a pattern this really has helped me to keep the pieces straight, even with the two-plus week gap between cutting the pieces and putting the dress together. I am using my serger to construct the dress. After serging the side seams of the skirt sections and ruffles, I repined the pattern piece to the pieced together sections. { Make sure to keep straight pins out of the reach of small children. } Here is the bodice section completed; except for the back placket and buttons.
