Tutu Drive Wrap

So, after the non-crafty weekend I decided to call it a wrap on the tutu drive.  I mailed off the two tutus ( say that twenty times fast, LOL ), and am calling it good.  I figure I will add the tutu supplies left over to my stash, and bring them out for Ms. Diva later on.  The idea I had for the purple crushed velvet ( left over from this post ) and the hot pink tulle is still in play.  Just added to the to-do list of life, LOL! Here is pictures of the two tutus I mailed of to Samster's Mommy: The tutorial for the peach tutu is already posted as Zippy Flower Tutu Tutorial , and the tutorial for the furry/fuzzy trim tutu will be posted August August 10th at Sugar Bee   as part of her Guest Bloggers Extravaganza. ------------------------------------ Remember to nominate your school ( Laptops for Schools ) if you are in an area serviced by Charter Communications.

How To - Zippy Flower TuTu

I completed this tutu to add to the package that I am sending to Samster's Mommy  for her Tutu Drive.  I have till the end of the month ( 5 more days, yikes ) to complete the five tutus I have as my goal to donate.  These are the two that I have finished so far ( still three tutus to go! ): The Zippy Flower TuTu (left) and the Furry/Fuzzy Trim TuTu (right) Here are the directions on how to create this fun tutu in a flash!  Ingredients for the Zippy Flower Tutu are: - 2 plus yards of tulle ( I used 2 yards for 18" of elastic ) - Flowers and matching buttons - 1 inch or 1.5 inch elastic, measure child's waist and subtract 1 or 2 inches to get length - Thread to match tulle for both upper thread and to use in your bobbin Sidenote: the puffier you want the finished tutu to be the longer your tulle should be.  If you can find tulle on sale you can easily ( and affordably ) use 3 or 4 yards to create a super tutu.  I got this peach tulle...

Tutu Supplies!!!!

I am completely stoked at what I found at Hobby Lobby last night to use for the Tutus I am creating for the Tutu Drive .  My goal is to make 5 tutus for the drive, and I have all 5 planned out: - Leopard Print something, with fuzzy trim, and brown ribbon - Layered Hot Hot Pink with Lime Green, with a fun ribbon from the discount bin ( always a plus ) - Purple crushed velvet and Hot Hot Pink tulle trim with black ribbon ( also from the discount bin! ) - Pale creamy orange with flowers ( not sure if this one will have ribbon or just elastic ) - Hot Hot Pink with Black Ribbon and Aqua Satin topper! Plus, the hot pink beads are to string on black ribbon to make the perfect gaudy dress-up necklace perfect for any child ( over the age of 3 of course )! Now we will just have to wait and see if what I create actually matches the list I just gave, LOL! My Mom went with me, and found a very fun summer print to make a new curtain for her kitchen and some matching towels.  She...

A tutu for Ms. Diva

With the Tutu Drive underway, I tried out this tutu idea in a Ms. Diva size in colors to go with bubbles she already has.  The top photo is so that you can actually see the tutu.  Here are the photos that show you why the top photo was necessary.  Exactly how do you keep a crawling diva still long enough to get a good shot? Candid Shots I'm linking up with:

Will you help?

My goal is to donate 5 tutu's.  What can you do?  Click on the button to find out details.
