Fabric from The Fat Quarter Shop !!!!!  After sticking with my No Fabric in April Pledge , this is like manna from heaven. This is the Citrus Moda Marbles Fat Quarter Bundle .  Aren’t these colors scrumptious? I have gotten them washed and am ready to get going on my first Accuquilt GO! Baby fabric cutting project! Thank you, Mail-Man!

Since I didn't luck out and win a gift certificate to purchase fabric... { darn it }... I will be using these puppy themed fabrics for my P2 Quilt-Along Quilt.  I think a fun puppy inspired quilt is in order to celebrate the newest family addition, Ms. T { found behind a local store in town last week }. I had all of these in my stash except for the two fabrics in the top right of the picture { the blue nursery puppy print and the multi-dog breeds with words print} .  I am super excited to be taking part of the quilt along, and can't wait to learn new quilting skills.  I will be posting each quilt block as we go so you can keep track of my progress.  Here is the completed Curtain Valance for Grandpa's room.  We used the tan and blue fabric Mom found at Fabric.com.  This is the same fabric I used for his Christmas Gift . . Here is a picture of the pillowcase. We are going to change out the fabric behind these doors and make a leg rest cover for his recliner. To create the valance, we did a 2" ruffle at the top, and 3.5" gap for the curtain rod, and then double stitched along the bottom of the rod space.  The red line is the top of the fabric where it is folded.  {The fabric above that is just extra fabric I had the valance laid on top of for the photo.}

As you can tell I had lots of fun at Joann's Columbus Day Sale!  I also stocked up on stabilizers and fusible interfacing (both 50% off).  Now, I am ready to get ramped up for the Holiday Craft Fairs!  Let me know if you would like to reserve a burp cloth or pair of stay-put towels made for any of this fabric.  I have two orders that get first dibs currently, but the I still have enough of each fabric to give others dibs too. Here are pictures of the fabric remnant, threads and suede I brought home with me from Sewing Club last night.  The fabric is now in the wash, and I am trying to figure out if it is going towards my mom's kitchen or not.  Mom, let me know what you think of it!

A new fabric for a Patriotic window valance for Mom's kitchen.  I am thinking it needs a denim ruffle to finish it off, and to pull out the denimy blue of the stars.   And here are some more Stay-Put Towel squares.  These fabrics remind me of the board game: Candy Land.  Just in time for Christmas sweets! And one last set For The Dogs!

Mom and I went to Hobby Lobby (with Ms. Diva of course) and found stripped fabric to match her new curtains.  Plus, we bought more of the star-burst flower fabric too! We are going to make her a Bag Grabber out of these fabrics, and more towels to match her new summer curtain .   Take a look at this fun Fireworks and Easter Egg fabrics scored!  These two are actually from other trips, but I didn't share them when we first brought them home. The only remnant I found, that I could in good conscience bring home, was this adorable green flannel frog print.  It is just begging to be made into something for a baby to love. The perfect winter/Christmas fabric was there as well, but at $10 a yard we decided we could wait for it to be on sale to buy it.  Mom checked out how much was on the board, and decided there was enough that it should not all be gone before we can get a coupon for it, LOL!  Of course, they had their fall fabrics on sale, but we could no...

The original credit for this idea and the recipe my tutorial is a take off from is from Women Who Do It All .  There are tons of great posts and ideas on their blog.  Here is my take on her bracelet recipe.  I love wearing these bracelets!  They baby safe ( no beads ) and you can throw them in the washer if/when they get dirty ( or completely slobbered ).  And with a teething 7-month-old they have been getting plenty of use as an instant teether.  I now have a confession to make.  I am a remnant shopper.  There is nothing better than getting a good price on the most useless size of fabric imaginable, LOL!  But... making these bracelets is putting a serious dent in my stash.  You can also use all kinds of scraps from larger projects.  Or, make a matching bracelet for any outfit you want! I have added some additional steps that I have incorporated from various tutorials and tips from other sewers.  So, sit-back and enjoy these...
