50’s Day Fun

This Sunday was 50’s day at church, and with Ms. Diva walking this year she ‘just’ had to have a fun skirt to wear to celebrate the occasion.  I had about half a yard of tan felt in my fabrics to use for the skirt { to go with her brown shoes }.  Not enough for a true, full poodle skirt.  So... I compromised and made an abridged ‘butterfly’ skirt.  I added a shocking hot pink tulle ruffle at the bottom, and tied the pink to the shirt with a quick stitched ‘flower’.  This was tulle I had left over from the TuTu Drive .  She was soooooo cute!  She is just starting to figure out twirling, and... ... she is fascinated with dandelions at the moment.  She loves to pull off the ‘fluff’ and set it free!  See how cute she is?  {Tomorrows post will have pictures of her not-so-cute side and pictures of my outfit to.} The butterfly design is from Embroidery Garden , and has to be one of my favorite butterfly designs I have found to d...

Weekend Wrap - 2/21/2011

It's been awhile since I have gotten a Weekend Wrap posted, and this is another sign that life is starting to settle down with the newest addition.  Last night Ms. T slept from 10:30pm to 1:30am; was back to sleep by 2:30am; woke up with daddy at 5:30 am;  we got up together at 5:30am and drained a bottle.   I feel like I slept amazing last night!  Then surprisingly Ms. T went back to sleep again, and I was able to put her back in the bassinet.  Which makes this the 2nd day since bringing her home from the hospital that I got my morning to-do list complete and have time to blog! My sewing project for this weekend was to finally get a diaper clutch finished for Ms. Diva's diaper bag.  With the new baby the big diaper bag stays in the sanctuary with us during service, and Ms. Diva's super-cute backpack goes with her to the nursery.  Unfortunately this super-cute backpack does not have interior pockets to stuff things in, and her diapers k...

Ms. Diva's new outfit.

Ms. Diva's Christmas/Winter outfit is from It's My Favorite Boutique on Etsy .  It came in the mail last week, and I just had to grab Ms. Diva, take some picks, and show it off to you guys! Ms. Diva is completely in love with shoes.  She must have a pair on her feet, and a pair in her hands, LOL!  It is funny how a month ago she could walk, but felt that crawling was much better, and faster.  Now, she has completely changed her tune, and is walking everywhere.  We have to keep a close watch on her outside, because she has figured out that she can walk out to where the horses are.  Not to mention the pond, and all the other 'fun' things outside.  Gravity always works. Search and Rescue Where O' Where could it have gone? I have all my Christmas shopping done, but am waiting for a few things to arrive in the mail still.  The only problem... Is that I have not been able to find our Christmas Stockings ANYWHERE?!?!?!  At this point I w...

Wordless Wednesday, 12/15/2010 (sorta)

Hey there ~ Here are the photos I intended for Monday's Weekend Wrap post, but... with several towel orders from the Etsy store I got behind.  What a reason to be behing though, eh?  I can't believe what a great response I have had to selling the Stay-Put Kitchen Towels.  They are even availalbe at Lather's, a hair salon here in Elgin, Texas! So, here are the photos with short explanations.  I hope you enjoy them, and get a giggle out of Ms. Diva's candid shots. {Fruit Comma} {We Need You} {I trully love how this tree came out.} {I added a fun garland over the present spot.  Out of Ms. Diva's reach, for now.} {Tutorial here} {Never been used, but a favorite in the kitchen none-the-less} {How-To Post to come for this cute, quick ornament} Here are two pairs of special ordered Stay-Put Towels.  The crazy thing is that I have been sewing towels like crazy, and most of them are already sold.  Need to keep sewing to get the inventory back up, L...

Weekend Wrap - 12/6/2010

Since I don't have room for an indoor tree... ...I decorated the tree outside! Here are the finished product photos for the custom order with attitude I referred to in Thursday's Post.   These are the stitch-outs of the four phrases that were selected from the variety I posted.  They came out very nice, and the phrases add some fun and a whole lot of attitude to the kitchen. I found this sewing fabric at Joann's and used it to create a unique set of Stay-Put Kitchen Towels.  I will be listing them at the shop this evening.  What a fun gift for an avid crafter! I still have a lot of sewing left to do from my list (mom's curtains, a Xmas pillow, etc.), but I did get my towel orders done and ready to mail out today.  Plus, we did get all the ornaments and decorations down from my attic and over to mom's to get the tree set up.  We also finished up our Christmas shopping, and even those gifts are wrapped and ready to go!  All in all...

Weekend Wrap - 11/8/2010

This week's Weekend Wrap has more to do with last week than the weekend.  Last week I participated in a Holiday Craft Fair, and had so much fun!  Did not keep up with the house cleaning very well while prepping for the fair, but... my closest is STILL CLEAN!!!!  This is the first time I have done a table space for a craft fair.  I figured out how to display the Stay-Put Towels on the curtain rods, and sold a lot of towels on Thursday.  Now, I am in the process of restocking my Spunky Diva etsy shop , and working with the new fabrics I recently ordered from Fabric.com . Here are some photos of The Spunky Diva table from the craft fair. The burp cloths were also a popular item that a lot of customers purchased.   I had fun doing more embroidered toilet paper.  I even purchased some Mylar designs to use, and they turned out very sparkly.  I used the back side of some glittery wrapping paper I had from last year.  On the family side of thin...

Weekend Wrap - 10/18/2010

Wow!  What a busy week.  The B-day Girl turned one on Saturday (I still can't figure out where the past year has gone?), and had a heck of a good time with her chocolate cake. The cutie pie B-day Girl with her embroidered t-shirt.  Font frame from Planet Applique, font from Embird. "Some Assembly Required" Are you sure those are going to go one? Let's take them over to Dad for help.  And of course Dad got it together right quick! Enjoying her cake! On Saturday I finished Ms. Diva's Harvest costume.  She is just the right size to be an adorable candy corn! She found the ribbon a little too interesting to play with though, LOL! I also got a FALL garland whipped up to add a touch of fall to our kitchen window.  It is hard to believe that it is the middle of October when we can leave the house windows open all night (with fans on) and the house is only down to 77 degrees in the morning!  Don't get me wrong, I love being warm, I just also love some cr...

Weekend Wrap - 10/11/2010

I spent most of this weekend working on my Etsy shop .  There are two new items listed ( Holiday Toilet Paper and Letter Fobs ).  Both make fun gifts for the everyone on your list!  I will be adding more fabric choices for the Letter Fobs over the coming weeks. I also added gift certificates for both $10 and for Stay-Put Towel Pairs .  I personalized a free template from Gift-Certificate-Templates .  To get the 'image' I uploaded into Etsy I uploaded the text document into PDF form, opened in Adobe, used the snapshot tool to select the gift certificate, then copied and pasted that image into Paint and saved as a jpeg.  Just a few steps (LOL), but I am very happy with how the gift certificates turned out! I feel very accomplished to have gotten all these items listed.  One of the hardest things to get done for me is getting the item photos taken.  But... my personal cheerleader is always cheering from the sidelines!  PS - she walked ac...
