Grandpa's Valance

 Here is the completed Curtain Valance for Grandpa's room.  We used the tan and blue fabric Mom found at Fabric.com.  This is the same fabric I used for his Christmas Gift . . Here is a picture of the pillowcase. We are going to change out the fabric behind these doors and make a leg rest cover for his recliner. To create the valance, we did a 2" ruffle at the top, and 3.5" gap for the curtain rod, and then double stitched along the bottom of the rod space.  The red line is the top of the fabric where it is folded.  {The fabric above that is just extra fabric I had the valance laid on top of for the photo.}

Ironing Board Cover and Towels

Here is a wonderfully fun Ironing Board Cover and two matching pairs of Stay-Put Towels.  The fabric was provided by the client, and certainly will make doing the laundry much more fun!  Enjoy how I made the world cuter today. Linking up with...

Grandpa's Christmas Gift - Bathroom Towels

Mom and I are working on sprucing up Grandpa's room, and we found this wonderful blue and tan flower motif fabric on clearance.  A nice blue that matches the 'wonderful' blue carpet already in his room.  The house is pretty much inundated with country blue as you can see from previous shots of the kitchen . I hand gathered the fabric for the ruffle at the bottom of the towels.  I am not sure where exactly I first saw the project that gave me the idea to do this gathered fabric on the towels, but here is a great tutorial on creating ruffled fabric at Simply Modern Mom .  I know that I have certainly been inspired by this pillow at The Shabby Chic .  The Elegant Embossed Monogram font is one that I purchased from www.Secretsof.com (where I also purchased my Embird embroidery software).  Grandpa was very happy with the towels. Custom Letter Fob Order

Here are three letter fobs special ordered as stocking stuffers.  I love how these stitch out!  Plus, with the circle applique design, they make excellent in-the-hoop tags. Check out the Custom Spunk section of the shop for fabric combos available.

Weekend Wrap - 12/6/2010

Since I don't have room for an indoor tree... ...I decorated the tree outside! Here are the finished product photos for the custom order with attitude I referred to in Thursday's Post.   These are the stitch-outs of the four phrases that were selected from the variety I posted.  They came out very nice, and the phrases add some fun and a whole lot of attitude to the kitchen. I found this sewing fabric at Joann's and used it to create a unique set of Stay-Put Kitchen Towels.  I will be listing them at the shop this evening.  What a fun gift for an avid crafter! I still have a lot of sewing left to do from my list (mom's curtains, a Xmas pillow, etc.), but I did get my towel orders done and ready to mail out today.  Plus, we did get all the ornaments and decorations down from my attic and over to mom's to get the tree set up.  We also finished up our Christmas shopping, and even those gifts are wrapped and ready to go!  All in all...

Custom Order with Attitude

Here are some jpgs of sayings for these fun kitchen towels.  Just a 'little' attitude here, LOL!

Fall Harvest Pillow for Mom

I took two napkins Mom purchased, added a couple leaves with my embroidery machine, sewed around the edge, and stuffed to make this cute holiday pillow.

Sea Turtles!

Here is my most recently finished custom order for an Etsy customer.  I have also added the Sea Turtle Bag Tag to the shop as well.  These critters will brighten anyone's day!

Keyfobs with Pocket for Party Favors

I was invited to a Labor Day picnic, and I took Keyfobs as gifts for all the ladies.  (Not a bad marketing ploy, LOL)   The wrapped ones are from the previous posts on these keyfobs.  I only took a picture of the two "new" ones I did just for this event.

My first custom order is in the mail!

The set of burp clothes for Kasey is in the mail.  I love how the package turned out.  I also added a Keyfob with Pocket to the order with Mom's initial.  Anything to help keep a mom's hands free when she has a new baby to juggle is helpful, LOL!

Key Fob and New Burp Clothes

Here are the two baby shower gifts I wrapped up this week.  One is post-baby (Kasey) and the little girl (Emma Shay) is due in October.  I think each Mom should get a key fob too! {Here is a pic of the one for Mr. SD's mom.} Set for Kasey: Emma Shay's set: {UT burp cloth is mostly for Emma's Dad, LOL} Linking up with: Just Something I whipped Up at The Girl Creative
